The Objectives of the two-day Conference are as follows :

To explore the phenomenon of dropouts/exclusion of large sections of the population from education systems in spite of the universal acceptance of the significance of education by developed and developing countries.
To explore the impact of Gandhian thought and practice on Adult Education for women.
To understand and evaluate various Adult Education/Adult Literacy Programmes and global experiments in the field.
To study how adult education leads to the empowerment of women and how empowerment of women leads to the enhancement of adult education programmes.
To initiate dialogue into various aspects of Adult Education Programmes for Women and to test their efficiency in actual situations.
