After a recent post about Volunteer Match I had contacted them to see if they have a similar website for Canadian based volunteers and organizations. Apparently I did not look quite far enough through the site. They do indeed and in fact they have opportunities all around the world.
Under the Search feature of the site one can search out opportunities by keyword, skills, country, preferred partners and American Corps. I mistakenly thought the link would lead to a search of the site, not opportunities. My apologies.
They did let me know that they are currently working on a plan for the UK and Canada as it would be easiest to establish in locations where English is already a primary language.

Looking For a Great Volunteering Opportunity?
I came across this site today VolunterMatch.com. It's a website network for volunteering, matching nonprofit organizations looking for volunteers with members of the public looking to donate their skills, time and effort.
As a volunteer you can view opportunities by area of interest (animal, health care, children, environment, etc) or skill that you can offer to these organizations.
I only wish this was expanded through North America.

VolunteerMatch is connecting good people with good causes.
