Another use for old books

Following on the heels of the Great Textbook debate....I found this today. If we refuse to allow other students to get some use out of old text books, why not turn them into art.

Karyn Romeis' African School Tale (textbook debate)

I usually just use the share feature of my reader to mark items that I like and want to share with others. Today however, I really want to point this posting out to everyone.

Karyn Romeis has been following and commenting on the textbook debate. Today she apologized (far too many times, lol) for what she thought was a long posting about her personal account of an impoverished African school - Once upon a Time in Africa.

It is something anyone who is even remotely concerned/interested in education or has a child in a school system any where in the world. It's a great reminder to us all of what we have and makes us think how we can help others.
